Artifact Description

A ceremonial adornment fashioned from crimson crystal, black glass, and antique silver-toned filigree. Its present construction is of recent workmanship, though the arrangement recalls forms recorded in older ceremonial inventories.

Provenance

This object was delivered to the Archive without accompanying record or claim of origin. The bearer declined to state where it had been obtained, remarking only that it had remained undisturbed for many years among effects from a long-abandoned manor. No supporting documentation has been recovered.

Observations

Under candlelight, the crimson stones exhibit an uncommon depth of color, appearing darker at rest than under daylight examination. Mr. Blackwood records no unusual properties beyond this behavior, though the effect has been noted consistently during cataloging.

Preservation Note

Keep from damp and prolonged exposure to perfumed oils. When not in use, allow the chains to rest freely without weight upon the central fitting.
